Paris: Notre Dame

La cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris is probably the most famous church in all of France.  After all, this is where the story "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame" by Victor Hugo takes place!  Many other famous historical events occur in this church, such as the coronation of Henry VI and the marriage of Mary, Queen of Scots.

The outside of the cathedral

The inside of the cathedral is just as beautiful and ornate as the outside.  It was under construction from 1163-1345, and it's not hard to imagine why, it is so ornate!

Gargoyles on the outside!

Overall, I really enjoyed the Cathedral of Notre-Dame!! I love looking at the old architecture; nothing like that would ever be built nowadays.  It would take much too long and be far too expensive.  This place is definitely worth a visit!!
